Meet your guide at the Skylon Parking Lot B and begin your journey with sweeping views of Niagara Falls from atop Skylon Tower. Explore the history of this century-old hydroelectric power plant through repurposed artefacts, interactive displays, and original machinery, like the giant turbines designed by Nikola Tesla. Learn about  Ontario’s pioneering green energy project and get a glimpse of the early stages of power generation at Niagara Falls.

You will then go 180-feet down in a glass elevator to the historic half-mile tunnel. Walk to the end of the 100-year-old Tailrace tunnel to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Horseshoe Falls.   • Footwear: Wear sturdy, comfortable, and non-slip footwear considering slippery and wet conditions inside the tunnel. 
  • Underground conditions: Carry a light jacket while heading to the tunnel in the glass elevator as it can get chilly below ground level. 
  • Ponchos available: Ponchos are available on request since you may get wet once you reach the observation deck. 
  • Accessible washrooms: There are several fully accessible washrooms on the generator floor. Make sure you use them before heading toward the tunnel since there are no washrooms there. 
  • Book tickets in advance: It is a good idea to book your tickets at least a week in advance to ensure availability, and avoid queues at the ticket counter, particularly on weekends.
