Getting to Niagara Falls by public transport

From Toronto

  • By bus: The easiest way to reach Niagara Falls is by bus. Several bus services, such as GO Transit, Greyhound, and Megabus, run between Toronto and Niagara Falls. The trip takes 2 to 2.5 hours.
  • By train: You can also board a train from Toronto to Niagara Falls. The weekend GO Train service takes you to Niagara Falls station in 2 to 2.5 hours. 

From New York City

  • By bus: Flixbus USA is one of the best ways to reach Niagara Falls. The bus runs every 3 hours, which takes 8 hours 55 minutes to reach and costs only $27. 
  • By train: New York Penn Station to Niagara Falls Amtrak Station is the nearest train station. The Amtrak train journey takes around 9 hours and costs around $107. The Amtrak train runs 3 times a day. 
  • By air: Flying to Niagara Falls is the most convenient and less time-consuming option. Take a flight from New York to either Niagara Falls Airport or Buffalo Airport. The journey only takes 1-2 hours. Multiple bus and taxi services are available from the airport to Niagara Falls.

From Buffalo

  • By bus: Hop onto the Line 40 bus to reach Niagara Falls from Buffalo, which takes around 1 hour. Buses such as Megabus, Greyhound, or public buses operate every day and are available on an hourly basis. 
  • By train: A train journey to Niagara Falls from Buffalo takes only 45 minutes to reach. The train operates daily and drops you at Niagara Falls Amtrak Station station.

From Toronto

  • Get on Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) from Toronto. 
  • Start driving South for about 78 miles (126 kilometers). 
  • Continue driving towards Niagara Falls until you can take Exit ON-420.

Parking: Clifton Hill Parking Lot has over 700 parking spaces, and the lot at Skylon Tower is suitable for overnight and bus parking. 

From New York City

Best for: Convenient and comfortable journey 

Travel time: 6 hours 40 minutes

Distance: 395 miles

  • Drive through New Jersey and northern Pennsylvania. 
  • Continue driving up to Niagara Falls.

Parking: You can find parking at Prospect Point, Goat Island, and Niagara Gorge.

From Buffalo

Best for: Convenient and comfortable journey 
Travel time: 30 minutes
Distance: 23 miles

  • Take a route over Grand Island. 
  • Drive over to Church Street and from Grand Island onto I-190 N. 
  • Take exit 22 to enter US-62 N.
  • Exit US-62 onto Pine Avenue, and you'll reach Niagara Falls.
