Vineyards at Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara Falls Wine Tours

The Niagara Falls region is a wine lover's paradise thanks to the area's perfect microclimate, mineral-rich soil formed by glacial deposits, and the unique sheltered geography of the Niagara Escarpment. The grapes grown at Niagara-on-the-Lake are top-notch. Add the expertise of talented local vintners, and you've got a recipe for some seriously delicious wines - from refreshing Rieslings to velvety Pinot Noirs.

Things to know before booking your wine tour

  • In Ontario, Canada, the legal drinking age is 19. You must have valid identification as proof of age.
  • If your tour includes food pairings, inform your guide of any dietary restrictions in advance.
  • Plan your tour between March and November when the weather is more pleasant, and the blooming vineyards will create a picturesque setting for your outdoor activities.
  • Book your Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tour beforehand to ensure availability, especially during peak seasons.

Visitor tips

  • Club your wine tour with your Niagara Falls visit to make the most of your visit to the region.
  • Avoid wearing heels while on the wine tour. Flat footwear or shoes work best while walking through the vineyards.
  • Look up wine-tasting etiquette and familiarize yourself with how to swirl, sniff, sip, and savor your wine.
  • If you’re a complete beginner at wine tasting, don’t hesitate to ask questions and engage with winemakers.
  • You can buy wines directly from the wineries. Bring a wine tote or protective packaging with you to transport bottles safely.
  • Wine tastings can add up quickly, so pace yourself and use the spittoons provided to avoid overindulging and to drink responsibly.
  • If you're driving to the vineyard decide on who the designated driver is beforehand.

We are so grateful, we went with this company. Our tour guide Julian was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with, engaging and very interactive with the group. The guys at the desk were very helpful for me and my family. When I messed up and we were at the wrong meeting point , they graciously moved our time so that we could still attend the walk behind the falls and the boat ride! They offered us cold water and invited me to stop crying because we were in good hands and they were absolutely right. I would 100% recommend going through this company to explore Niagara Falls Canada!!

It was a beautiful day. The guide provided all the information. We had the pass for behind the falls, the boat ride, and the observation tower. As a family, we had just enough time to do everything without wasting too much time. Unfortunately, we hadn’t brought a picnic because we thought we’d buy something there to eat peacefully in front of the falls, but we didn’t have time. We only had five minutes to grab a bag of chips.

Our guide, MJ was super knowledgeable and fun. We appreciated her suggestions as to what were absolute "must experience" activities and sights. The Maid of the Mist ride was our top favorite memory of the trip. We loved the cool water on a hot day, the beautiful falls and the excitement of getting so close to all of that rushing water!

An exceptional experience—the service was top-notch, the staff was very attentive to customers, and when some people cut in front of us, they stepped in to set things right, which was much appreciated—thank you. The pilot was very professional, too. No complaints at all—I highly recommend this experience to everyone.
